Faith in Nature is based in Manchester and was founded by Rivka Rose over thirty years ago, with a clear mission to produce skin and hair care products from naturally derived sources, that had no synthetic additives and which damaged neither the user nor the environment. This as true today as it was then.

  • They never have, nor will test their products on animals, nor use animal ingredients, nor buy ingredients tested on animals (with a cut off date in accordance with BUAV requirements of 1988, with the exception of Clear Spring which has a cut off date of 2002).
  • They will not use genetically modified ingredients
  • They will not use synthetic colouring and fragrances
  • They will not use SLES, SLS and Parabens
  •  They will use only natural or ecologically certified preservatives
  • They will use only pure aromatherapy oils and herbal ingredients
  • They will progressively seek to use Fair Trade ingredients when buying from Third World sources.

All products are vegetarian, and almost all are vegan

Weleda was founded in Switzerland in 1921 by a Dutch medical doctor Ita Wegman and the renowned philosopher Rudolf Steiner. Weleda was established in the UK shortly after in 1925.

Their aim is to help everyone, old and young, to restore health and maintain wellbeing. They are committed to doing so naturally, ethically, safely, without animal experimentation and without damaging the environment.

They grow their own ingredients biodynamically at Weleda, taking into account the impact this has on the surrounding natural habitat. They developed their 15-acre herb gardens in Derbyshire with the advice of the local Wildlife Trust to protect the biodiversity (the delicate balance of wildlife).

The Green People Company is based in West Grinstead and was founded in 1995 by Charlotte Vøhtz .

Green People are committed to offering products that are 100% natural, certified organic and highly effective.

None of their formulations or products are or ever have been tested on animals and most of their products are registered by the Vegan Society. All of their products are suitable for Vegetarians.

They also support charities with related environmental concerns and each year 10% of their net profit is donated to charitable causes linked to 'green' or environmental issues.

Simply Soaps and Hedgerow Herbals are a small company based in Norfolk. They do not use any man made or synthetic ingredients including:

  • Phatalates
  • Parabens
  • Sodium lauryl sulphate
  • Sodium laureth sulphate
  • DEA, TEA, MEA
  • Formaldehyde

They only use 100% natural and botanical ingredients always have and always will. Plus their packaging is recyclable and much of it is bio-degradable. They will only use palm oil that is sustainable and ethically sourced.

Ruby Red is based in London were they produce organic shea butters & bath soaks. They were founded in 2008 by Martine Burford.

All of their ingredients are derived directly from nature, with no artificial colours, parabens or other chemical nasties, and they are proud to have some of the shortest ingredient lists ever. Essential Care is based in Suffolk, They are a small family team of Margaret, Colin and daughter Abi. They established the partnership Essential Care as a trademark and mail order company in 2003 to broaden the availability of Margaret's natural skincare products. Their philosophy is simple: All ingredients must have therapeutic value, as well as making the product a joy to use. They use herbs and essential oils in therapeutic concentrations for optimum benefit. Plant oils must be virgin and cold-pressed so that they have their full antioxidant vitamin-content intact, so as to actively nourish the skin and protect it from premature ageing.

They support fair trade, natural farming methods and have an active commitment to the care of the environment. This encompasses organic certification of their products, choosing materials which are locally-sourced where possible, are from sustainable and renewable resources, free from chemical contaminants, and are either recycled or can be recycled safely. All the ingredients They use, except for the emulsifier beeswax, are plant-derived. All Essential Care products are handmade in small batches to ensure maximum freshness. Their products are tested only on willing human volunteers.
