Welcome to the October Newsletter

If you are anything like us here at The Green Store, you will have spent the summer sowing, tending and watering your raised beds and veg plots & will no doubt have a window sill full of un-ripened tomatoes and enough carrots to keep Bugs Bunny happy!
So we were pleased to find some recipes that would make use of some of our produce.
We love carrot and coriander soup and found the following (really easy) fab recipe;

And if you have many green tomatoes you could treat your nan or neighbours to some home made chutney;

Or if you have a true abundance then the following link has some great tomato recipes including an easy tomato ketchup!

No matter what you have left in your glut pile, we hope you are as proud of yourself as we are, as eating in season, organic, homegrown produce sure does taste so much better!
We are now off to make peppermint tea, fresh from our window box full of mint!

Top Tip
Electric kettles consume half the energy needed to boil water on the stove, so when you put on a pan for pasta or veg – boil the water in the kettle first & place a small (clean) seashell in your kettle to avoid limescale build up!
