Welcome to the August Newsletter

Isn’t it amazing just how many green / eco / ethical linked stories there are these days…it’s as if the whole world is becoming more and more green conscious (we wish)!
So from the serious, the ridiculous & to the somehow sublime we have found some stories that we just had to share!
One of the best ‘green’ stories we have heard is that cows are being bred to burp less! Apparently this will help reduce potent greenhouse gas and tackle global warming! Read more....
Another is that UK scientists will soon be artificially growing millions of lettuces that'll never see the sun, rain or even soil! Read more....
For those Sunday snoozers Sony's new Bravia WE5 'Eco TV' includes a 'smart presence sensor' that can tell if the set is no longer being watched and will ‘put itself to sleep’…perfect for a Sunday afternoon guilt free nap! Read more...
Or how about adding some mini sheep into your life to cut your carbon footprint like a vineyard in New Zeland! They are using 'mini' sheep to keep the grass around its vines short, cutting its use of the energy consumed by diesel-powered mowers! Read more.....
Riding into a town near you is the £3,000 (wow!!) eco-friendly bamboocycle (a bike made of bamboo stems)…completley biodegradeble…..we just won’t mention the miles it had to travel to reach our shores and wonder what happens when it rains! Read more...
We love a good green story and if you have one you think we should all see please do write and tell us about it at info@thegreenstoreonline.co.uk
