Happy New Year.
As we wave goodbye to another year we welcome 2009 with hope, enthusiasm and many of us making a traditional New Year’s resolution.
New Year's resolutions are ages old and it is rumoured that the tradition goes back to the Babylonians who were the first to make them, and people all over the world have been breaking them ever since. The early Christians believed the first day of the New Year should be spent reflecting on past mistakes and resolving to improve oneself in the new year.
If like us, you make wild pledges of self-improvement, and every year they vanish like melting snow isn’t it encouraging to hear of some other peoples good intentions! According to www.greenlivingideas.com the most popular resolutions in our green conscious lives are to;
- Vow to eat an entirely local meal at least once a week.
- Boycott at least one non-green product all year.
- Give up using paper napkins, paper towels, or both.
- Change to low-energy light bulbs.
- Cut down on the power that your electronic devices use.
- Don’t drive when you can walk.
- Turn off the tapwhile you’re brushing your teeth.
- Buy less stuff and really give thought before you buy something.
- Pledge to actually remember to bring your own grocery bags when you go shopping.
So whether you decide to plant more trees, walk more, get involved in further green issues or to boycott water bottles from this day forward…..we hope you will succeed in all your endeavors in 2009 and wish you all a successful year ahead.

Housekeeping Notes.
Good news & bad news………..Let’s start with the bad news. We have been told by one of our suppliers that as from January 2009, Ecover are increasing all their prices by 20%. We are going to keep our prices for Ecover products at their current level until 1st February, so if you are an Ecover devotee stock up now.
